Rest (well, most) of my weekend.

I did not know how to approach my days off this week. I managed to stay up most of the day (I work overnight) but intended on getting a few hours of sleep, which turned into 6. Extra sleep aside I was awoken my my phone going off via a text message. The message was from a co-worker of mine asking me if I wanted to go to a few bars with her and her boyfriend. I had nothing to do so I might as well tag along.

The first place I met them was on the outskirts of town. The place is something that really caters to the Nascar and motorcycle rally events we have in this area. One notable thing I can say about this place is that it has a lot of billiards tables though when I showed up they were all taken so I just sat there and people watched with them (the other thing I can mention is that this place has a cigarette vending machine. I thought with the asshole tight tobacco laws that these were extinct, I guess not).

The other place we hit up later in the night was this other place downtown which is more or less my spot. Lots of young people compared to the other place and more or less up-scale in terms of looks. I started to drink when we go to this place rather than paying for something in two different locations for whatever reason. I found out that there were $3 Sangria drinks on tap so I had to take advantage of this. Sort of an acquired taste because it's fucking rancid at first but after the first one not only am I a little buzzed but for $3 there's no excuse not to get another one (or 4 lol but I only had 2).

I kinda felt bad for the boyfriend who tagged along. He felt kinda out of place and didn't say much (neither knew what to do on the small dance floor while I was busting a move).Eventually we left and I went back to my place and Played more Call of Duty: Black Ops because there was nothing to do overnight and I had just woken up a few hours prior. I'm used to it.

During most of the daylight hours I started cleaning a little bit because I've been neglecting this place quite a bit. I  suppose I am used to tidying up on Fridays because that's when my girlfriend comes over but I just wanted to get it out of the way. I went to Subway and got a sub and a red bull for when I wanted to go out later, sticking it in my fridge when I got back to my place. When I got back I cant remember what I did for a few hours. I possibly was either on the PC not doing much or playing more Black Ops. As the previous day I wanted to get a few hours of sleep. Even though I set my alarm I did not hear it and woke up later, I believe around 8PM and I was rather displeased.

My plans were to go to a few towns over and play Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA since it's the closest machine in my geographical area. I took the highway rather than going a normal route due to time constraints. I really doing like going on the highway, not that I'm intimidated, its just the fact that you get a fuckhead that can really kill your vibe. I was an exit where I needed to be and the onramp was rather close to the traffic oncoming and I slow down for the other guy to get in front of me, he doesn't. So somehow I was going 30MPH on the highway right before the exit. Fucking asshole, worse of all he was probably from Massachusetts.

I get to the arcade and do my thing though without the usual hecklers aka people telling me I'm good and shit WHILE I'M PLAYING. Sure I enjoy the comments and crowds but I cant concentrate, or comment back in a proper way. I am really out of practice with the game. I remember the summers of 2006 and 2007 I could spend hours (and tens of dollars) on a DDR machine and I'd be set. Nowadays I run out of stamina and dont spend much time usefully. My recovery time is longer, I forgot most of my strategies, and I'm overall worse than I have been since 2003. I'd like to get a group together but really, no one plays this anymore which is a shame. I wish for the franchise not to be so niche but in return we got casual shit and shitty song licences but in the end I need to get back in shape.

The drive home was alright. I was still pretty hot from playing and here in the northeast it was about 40F and I rode the entire way home with my window down. I don't have air conditioning in my vehicle so winter is the only time I get "cold air" lol.

When I got home I had no clue what I wanted to do. After showering it was more or less close to 11PM and since I had no friends accompanying me this week (usually I have a few, no more than 5) I hit up this other bar that was below a Chinese restaurant. I order a drink and some chicken fingers and play Starcraft 2 while I was listening to an amazing set which I later tracked down and put on my iPod so I could listen to at work. While I was playing the bartender asked me what I was playing, or doing for that matter. I guess a guy sitting in a corner to himself is the most interesting thing in that place.

With all weird shit aside I can say I did not spend all that much venturing out on my days off. A measly $30 compared to the usual Benjamin bill that I'm known to drop an a weekly basis. I came home and played some more Starcraft 2 for the rest of the night and talking to my contact in Holland. To end my day I ordered a large Steak and Cheese sub from the shop D'Angelos. I found an online coupon for like $4 off. I could not refuse. On my way there I stopped at the convenience store on the corner and bought a can of drank since I needed to get to sleep sometime.

I can say the sleep was great. A co-worker of mine said I was more talkative but I doubt it. I don't know what did it, it couldn't of been the sleep, I only got 6 hours. Maybe it was from playing DDR or possibly the vitamin A's I took by the handful. I'll never know.

Well, that's it. I tried to make most of my time to myself while my girlfriend was out of state. I hope I get to see her next weekend because I sure do miss her.

Alright weekend despite some sleepbacks

I went to the bar last night not because I wanted to drink, ok yes I did but I just needed to get out of my house. I brought my laptop to play some SC2 while hearing some shitty karaoke in the background well, at least the bass because I had my earbuds on listening to some trance while doing rather well in 2v2s.

My main focus on this entry is a song that was perfomed that I couldnt identify that the same melody was used. I watched the show Witch Hunter Robin back in like 2004 and the ending song HALF PAIN sounded identical melody-wise to another song I've heard in the past (over a decade). Well last night I got my answer and after listening to it a few times I can say the first verse sounds the same. What do you think?

More weekend happenings coming soon but the weekend wasn't over. I'll elaborate since it's only Saturday and I have a lot of shit to get off my chest.

These two sets are amazing

Despite what you heard I'm not dead yet! Just been rather busy with some IRL shit. I just wanted to get on here real quick and post these two mixes I found on a bro's dropbox (if the links should die hit me up in an email).

Promotional Hard Trance DJ mix by NISH
Promotional Uplifting Trance DJ mix by NISH

I was 100% satisfied with these mixes and have listened to them MULTIPLE times. All I can say is: Energetic, uplifting, melodic, driving.

Be back with more consistency, if not a decent length with some actual content.

I wish I had musical know-how.

I'd make a Eurobeat redo of this classic. Epic the hell out of it.
Fund it, AVEX.

Drank Anti-Energy Drink: Review ( I guess)

I was tipped off by a co-worker that this was in my area FINALLY after like a year or so of waiting. I 'll be dammed if I had to spend the extra money importing the shit for my house, it's a goddamn drink afterall.

One of the better posts I've read in a while

Being honest, I never thought I'd be making one of these threads. But right now I'm not sure what to do.

About a week ago a new girl named Sarah moved into the apartment across the hall from mine. Normally I wouldn't have taken much notice of her. I'm a self-sufficient guy and I've never really been up for relationships (it's been a few years since I had a girlfriend, and since then I've stayed by myself and just worked on my writing). However, Sarah isn't a normal girl: she's in a wheelchair.

Over the last week we hung out a little bit, and last night we finally got around to her 'housewarming' party, in which we both got wasted and I woke up on her couch. She is quite intelligent and witty, and she seems rather upbeat despite everything. So of course, the thought of whether I ask her out popped into my head today.

And I don't know. But not from being disgusted or anything horrible like that. She's nice, and quite pretty, but for starters I have no idea what to expect in someone in a wheelchair. And secondly, I haven't had a girlfriend in a long time, and I don't know whether my reservation is just a learned behaviour of this or something else.

So here I am, asking for help. I can clarify if more info is required, but in any case thanks for your time.

Four years ago she was riding her scooter (Vespa?), and while she was at a red light someone plowed into the back of her. She told me that she has some scars, but I haven't seen them so I can't tell you what they entail, apart from a small scar across her left cheek, under her eye. She said it was from the crash, but it is a tiny line that you could swear was from a blade or slicing along a sharp counter corner if you didn't know.

She told me the details last night, that she was in hospital for a long time. It was a pretty sad story, so I told her that she could stop, which she did. I feel bad for not stopping her sooner, because it must be painful to recount I guess. I've only ever had my asthma attacks, and those aren't really on the same field.

Well, I guess I've decided that it doesn't matter that Sarah is in a wheelchair; I'm going to ask her out.

But now I have to plan a venue, should she let me take her on a date. I don't want the cinema, because that's a bad message, but I want to be something interesting at the same time, that is generally wheelchair-accessible. Usually I would wait for a clear night and stargaze seeing I know the starmaps, but seeing I would have to take her from her chair and lay her down on a blanket I may save that one. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Alright, OP here. I'm going across the hall to ask her. Wish me luck, would you?

OP here. I'm back.

Sarah answered the door reasonably straight away. She's a little hungover today after the vodka she drank last night, but she still seemed pleased to see me and asked what was up after inviting me in.

I didn't bullshit or falter any. Leaning down toward her level a little I told her that I have enjoyed spending time with her, and I'd like to take her out somewhere so that we can get to know each other better.

Silence. She just stared at me for a few seconds with a straight face before scoffing and saying something to the tune of "Please. Lots of women out there whose legs work." But I decided before I went that I wasn't going to get palmed off, so I said "But I'm asking you."

She agreed, told me that she has tomorrow night free, but... it's strange. She seemed almost reserved or untrusting. I don't quite get it. Still, a yes is a yes until proven otherwise so I have to plan a good evening. Cheers to everyone who has given advice to me, I probably couldn't have done it without you, but I'm still concerned with these new developments.

Since the inception of the advice board there hasn't been a thread I remember quite as much as this one. It was the early days of said board that was around for maybe a week at most at the time but I have to say it was pretty engaging trying to give this guy some courage and, to be honest, it was some real Densha Otoko-type shit going on. Sometimes I wonder if the two went anywhere in a relationship or if anything ever came of it for that matter.

(Club) 313

I was invited by one of my co-workers to go to the club on our only mutual day off which was Thursday to this place called the 313

Too bad I will never know what a Saturday is like at this place, fucking employment.

I First went on a Friday which come to find out is surprisingly one of the more deader nights the place had to offer unfortunately and after conversing with the bartender for a few minutes I learned Thursday is when the place is most hoppin' and let me tell you it's no exaggeration. For about 3 hours it was crazy dancing and that's all I go to clubs for and for being known as a gay club it isn't all that bad(though no homo).

I'm not there to pick up chicks or get intimidated by ALPHA AS FUCK niggaz.

I'm just there to have a good time, drink (their weak as FUCK drinks) and hop to some decent music no other place can mix like which is a rarity because you just get some guy with iTunes and just playing a setlist, not working the crowd, not mixing shit and IN FACT last week some guy forgot to shut off his other programs and in the middle of a song a loud AVAST VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED was blasted. Since I am not a stranger to that message I  recited it in real time and got some strange looks from the people I was with at the time. lol

If you have nothing to do on Thursdays and are a hell of a ways from Boston be sure to hit this place up.

In future entries I might post some more places I spend my money at. Might as well start somewhere.
